The Best Molasses Cookies

These molasses cookies are soft and chewy and are sure to be your new go- to molasses cookie recipe!



 

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup softened butter (unsalted)

  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/4 cup molasses

  • 2 1/4 cup flour

  • 2 tsp. baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 1/2 tsp. cloves

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1 tsp. ginger

  • sugar for rolling

  • White Chocolate (Optional)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  2. Combine butter, brown sugar, egg, and molasses in a bowl until thoroughly combined.

  3. In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, salt, cloves, ginger, and cinnamon.

  4. Slowly add the flour mixture to molasses mixture until fully combined.

  5. Chill dough in fridge for 2-3 hours.

  6. Once chilled form dough into golf ball sized balls and roll in sugar and place on cookie sheet. Sprinkle/flick top of cookies with a tiny amount of water to create a "crinkle" top

  7. Bake 8-11 minutes or until edges are slightly darker.

  8. Cool cookies and melt white chocolate to drizzle over top (optional)
