These molasses cookies are soft and chewy and are sure to be your new go- to molasses cookie recipe!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup softened butter (unsalted)
1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
1 large egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
sugar for rolling
White Chocolate (Optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Combine butter, brown sugar, egg, and molasses in a bowl until thoroughly combined.
In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, salt, cloves, ginger, and cinnamon.
Slowly add the flour mixture to molasses mixture until fully combined.
Chill dough in fridge for 2-3 hours.
Once chilled form dough into golf ball sized balls and roll in sugar and place on cookie sheet. Sprinkle/flick top of cookies with a tiny amount of water to create a "crinkle" top
Bake 8-11 minutes or until edges are slightly darker.
Cool cookies and melt white chocolate to drizzle over top (optional)
